Due to an increasing workload our client is looking to recruit an Associate Landscape Architect to join their office in London. The successful applicant will be Part IV qualified, holding a Landscape Institute accredited degree and a Member of the Landscape Institute (MLI). Considerable post-qualification experience in a senior position or Associate position with experience of liaising with clients is essential to this role; you will assume an integral role in developing this office and making it a success; commercial awareness and design flair are pre-requisites. A proficiency in verbal and written English is required along with excellent graphic skills, particularly in the following computer packages: AutoCAD, Photoshop and Sketch Up. Good drawing board skills are essential. You will be able to develop design ideas and solutions from inception through to the preparation of production drawings and you will be able to communicate these ideas to co-consultants and clients. There is an emphasis that the successful candidate will join this company and be driven to become an integral part of the business; they will thrive on networking with UK and international clientele, be actively securing new projects, ensuring repeat business and managing their internal project work. The office is a multi-cultural, open plan studio practice; when not with clients they prefer a casual dress code and whilst encouraging a mature attitude to work ethic, they maintain a friendly atmosphere and usually play music. Excellent ability in project management and an awareness of the commercial aspects of working at a senior level in a design office are essential; experience in seeing a project from inception to completion is essential. Previous international experience would be an advantage. Please note there would be a lot of traveling on an international basis with this position.
