Where do you get your salary information from?
We use the RIBA salary information as a guide, along with our 14 years of industry experience to advise both clients and candidates on accurate salary information.
Do you Revit (or other software) test candidates?
No. This is the responsibility of the employer.
Do you manage internship/work placement opportunities?
Not presently as it is usually easier for candidate and clients to find these types of opportunities directly.
What happens if my contact/consultant is on annual leave?
There will always be someone at Hunter Dunning, willing and able to support your query while your consultant is away.
What are my recommendations used for?
Recruitment is an industry in which a reputation for providing a good service is very important. As such we always ask the people, we work with to provide a referral and an insight into their experience working with Hunter Dunning. This will be used either on consultants’ personal LinkedIn accounts, our website or on a testimonials page. You can request to have your name/other personal information removed at any time.
What is GDPR and how does it affect my data?
GDPR is the General Data Protection Regulation and protects your personal data from being mis-used. At Hunter Dunning we gain your full consent prior to even storing your data and you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
Do you also manage admin/PA/ BD roles?
It is not our core sector, but we have worked and placed people in such roles. We can review the requirements and confirm if it is something we can help you with.
Who will be my contact at Hunter Dunning? Will I have to deal with lots of consultants?
Our consultants are allocated specific areas of the country to look after, meaning you will have one main contact at Hunter Dunning. This ensures contact is more efficient and the consultant can better understand your business, projects and required skills to ensure candidates being put forward are the most relevant for you as a client.
Do you only approach active candidates in the market?
If they are the best person for the job, then yes. However, although “passive candidates” are not actively job-seeking, they may reconsider when we explain how your opportunity will benefit their career. In our experience everyone is active for the right role.
What is the quantity of CVs I can expect to receive from Hunter Dunning?
At Hunter Dunning we will only send you CVs that are relevant and matched expertly to the requirements previously discussed with your consultant. Therefore, we aim to send a small amount of quality CVs.
Am I going to receive tonnes of Irrelevant CV’s?
Not at all! We only send quality not quantity. We will only send CV’s that are relevant to what you’re trying to achieve, and we are upfront and honest if we can’t find anyone suitable.
What are your Terms of Business?
Our terms will be discussed with you by your consultant. We offer a non-financial commitment service up until the point your new employee starts their first day with you.
How much does your service cost me?
Our service to you as a candidate is 100% free of charge.
What locations do you cover?
Our consultants across all sectors cover the UK except Ireland. Depending on where your individual job search is focused, you may deal with only one of our consultants or multiple.
Are you able to help candidates who need a work permit/visa?
We can only assist candidates who have the right to work in the UK. This is because this is what is required by the majority of our clients. If sponsorship is available, it will be highlighted in the job description.
How do I register with Hunter Dunning?
If your application is successful, we will want to get to know all about your job search, key skills and the perfect job role for you. This process is usually completed in one phone call to one of our consultants and takes around 20 minutes to complete. The longer we can talk, and the more information that you are able to give us, the better we can help in your search for the perfect new opportunity.
What information do I need to send Hunter Dunning to support in my application?
We will require an up-to-date CV and Portfolio. Depending on the client request, we may also request further documents to show technical detailing, or more work completed in a particular CAD software for example.
Where will my CV be sent to?
Your CV will only be sent to companies that we at Hunter Dunning have previously discussed with you. You will always know where your application has been sent to. We are not in the business of sending your CV to every company in a postcode.
When can I expect to hear back about my application?
Due to the quantity of applications received, we cannot get back to everyone. If you do not receive a reply from us within 7 working days, then unfortunately your application has likely been unsuccessful. Be aware however that we will keep a copy of your CV/Portfolio and keep you in mind for any future vacancies.
When can I expect feedback on an interview I have attended?
We usually aim to receive feedback following an interview within 2 – 3 days, however due to busy schedules of directors (especially if you are meeting with multiple people) this process can take up to 10 working days. Your consultant will keep you updated as and when they receive feedback.
Do you support me with the relocation process?
All our clients are supportive and understand that it’s not easy to relocate. We only work with clients that would prefer to wait for the right candidate to get their affairs in order than be in a rush to get them placed. Dont panic!
If I’ve applied for a job and been contacted by HD, do I need to apply again to other positions that look suitable or will I be contacted if anything else becomes available?
We store your information on a sophisticated database that alerts us to suitable candidates when we have new jobs that fit. As such there is no need to apply for any further positions with us as we will do the hard work and come back to you.
What are the benefits of applying via an agency rather than directly to an employer?
Your application will be submitted directly to heads of department, or directors of companies, and your consultant will be able to thoroughly discuss your skills and experience as the best representation for you. This is more beneficial than your CV sitting in a generic inbox with 100’s of other applications.
What is the process for a referral?
We are very grateful to receive referrals from candidates. If we place your referral in a permanent position and they pass their 3-month probation period with their new company, you will receive £300 in vouchers of your choice. Popular previous choices have included Amazon and John Lewis.
