Archaeologist Job in Essex

I am currently looking for a Senior Archaeologist for my client who is a heritage property developer in based in Essex

This company is a housing developer with a strong passion for heritage. They pride themselves on restoring and preserve listed and historical buildings for the future, at the same time as creating beautiful homes that are tastefully built to a high standard.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervising teams of archaeologists and providing technical support
  • Proven report-writing ability
  • Post-excavation co-ordination skills
  • Evaluation and excavation experience
  • Comfortable working away from home, UK wide
  • Experience of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Historic Environment Record (HER)
  • Experience and demonstrated competence in field archaeological methods and practice, such as excavation techniques, the ability to plan and draw sections, take levels, fill in context sheets and prepare WSI, archiving and reports for the council.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Ideally 10 years+ experience in a similar role
  • Relevant degree
  • Field and desk-based experience
  • Basic knowledge of building regulations
