The opportunity has become available in Sheffield for a Revit fluent Architectural Technologist with a passion and interest in historic projects to join a growing studio. The company employ over 900 staff internationally with offices across Europe, Asia and The Middle East. They have individual teams covering most sectors from education, healthcare and transport; to sports, leisure, residential and conservation.

The successful Architectural Technologist will join an interdisciplinary team made up of Engineers, Designers, Urbanists and Technicians to help deliver a significant and challenging historic building scheme from stage 4 onwards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for technical design problem solving and the production of architectural details
  • Working closely with multi-disciplinary design team members
  • The role will be centered on the use of BIM methodologies to carry out conceptual, schematic and detailed design, 3D modelling, technical reports and design coordination.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hold a BSC(Hons) in Architectural Technology or similar/equivalent, whilst membership with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) will be considered an advantage, but not essential
  • Recent and competent experience using Revit is essential, with the ability to train and mentor other members of staff
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of BIM processes, including the PAS 1192 suite of documents and ISO 19650
  • A strong background working on medium to large scale projects from stage 4 onwards
  • Listed building experience and enthusiasm for existing buildings is key
  • Excellent technical ability with an appreciation for high-quality design
  • Comfortable in a client facing role and able to communicate effectively across all levels
  • Have excellent design and presentation skills using a variety of media
  • Have a good knowledge and experience of Autodesk Navisworks or similar design coordination tools.
