Are you an experienced Clerk of Works looking to work for a multidisciplinary practice with the flexibility of working from home? Due to increasing projects, our client is now looking to grow its site inspection services team working across SW London, Surrey and West Sussex

The multidisciplinary practice is award winning and specialises in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential. Offering a multitude of services in Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S. Made up of 6 offices and 240 staff, they are continuing to grow and offer further progression for their employees. The role would suit a current Clerk of Works or an experienced Site Manager.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Working across residential projects and some commercial projects, both new build and refurbishments
  • Regular site inspection visits across SW London, Surrey and West Sussex
  • Verify compliance and progress against contractual drawings, warranty standards and employers’ requirements
  • Identify discrepancies and raise appropriately
  • Prepare written reports to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Organise snagging and end of defect inspections with the client
  • Liaise with clients throughout the lifecycle of the construction process

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience as a Clerk of Works or Site Manager
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Experienced in largescale new build residential construction
  • Current knowledge of UK building regulations and compliance
  • Experienced in overseeing several sites at one time
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors / sub-contractors / clients and internal stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • UK Driving Licence
  • Access to own vehicle
  • Ideally MICW, ACABE, MCABE, MCIOB or MRICS or working towardsWhat you get back
  • £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
