We currently have a new role for a conservation focused Architect in Bristol to join a leading name in the sector. With recent projects including residential, ecclesiastical and museums this role offers varied projects and career development.

Our client was founded in the 1940’s and has grown to over 250 people across 11 UK offices, and in this time has become an industry leader in architecture, heritage and masterplanning.

Sitting comfortably in the AJTop20 the practice provides sensitive restoration and repair schemes and contemporary design in historic contexts. The sectors they work in includes Cultural, Education, Ecclesiastical, Public, Hospitality, Residential and many more. The Bristol office is made up of around 12 people and due to a increase in work require a conservation focused Architect to join the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals, working on beautiful Heritage buildings
  • Taking a lead role in the running of projects
  • Working across all stages with a focus on RIBA stage 3-4
  • You will have keen attention to detail and high-quality examples of work
  • You will be working as part of a team and independently as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Part 3 qualified with a minimum of 5 years UK experience
  • AABC/RIBA SCA qualification would be highly desirable
  • Experience in or keen interest in conservation projects would be essential
  • Have excellent design and drawing skills
  • Have a strong understanding of the UK Building and Planning regulations
  • Proven experience working on all RIBA stages
  • Demonstrate good client-facing communication skills
  • Have demonstrable project/ job running experience
  • Competent in technical detailing
  • Experience of working on large new build projects
  • Proficient using AutoCAD, Revit and NBS.
