Project Manager Job in Manchester

Project Manager required to join workplace Design and Build firm, the role will involve managing the delivery phase for workplace/commercial projects in the region. Our client has around 200 members of staff across 4 offices through the UK, this role will be based from their Manchester office, similar opportunities available in other locations as well.

Established over a decade ago, my client is well-established and a leader within their sector. Current projects range from 5,000 sqft to 50,000 sqft +. This role will be joining an existing team of designers, architects, and strategists. You will be involved in the delivery of projects and managing the process from initial site setup to completion. The ideal candidate will come from a similar position with a D&B firm.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enforce health and safety compliance
  • Manage site documentation
  • Manage sub-contractors and tradespeople on site
  • Travel to and set up/review sites in advance of work commencing, carrying out weekly visits thereafter
  • Involvement and control of the financial aspects of projects, including estimations, tenders, and procurement
  • Auditing throughout build process
  • Manage the schedule and delivery program
  • Manage all aspects of the build phase and ensure quality throughout
  • Liaise with third parties and internal teams, arranging and attending meetings on/off-site
  • Snagging and raising issues with works teams to ensure correct standards are achieved.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or Project Management
  • 5+ years’ experience of on-site project delivery
  • Excellent knowledge of work practices and BS standards/codes
  • Experienced with MS Office packages, including MS Project & Cindy
  • Experience and knowledge of contract terms (JCT D&B 2016)
  • Working knowledge of project planning and construction management software
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis.
