Quality Technical Inspector - London (Remote Working)

Our client is an award-winning multidisciplinary consultancy and due to increasing projects, they now need an experienced Quality Technical Inspector to join their team working across projects in London and north of London. Current Quality Technical Inspectors, Clerk of Works, Building Control Inspectors, Senior Site Managers can be considered. The role will be predominantly site based.

With around 300 staff and 6 offices, the consultancy work across multiple projects sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential and offering services across a wide range of disciplines including Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Regular site inspections of construction work to monitor progress and quality
  • Verify compliance with contractual drawings specifications, warranty standard and Employer’s Requirements
  • Prepare specific reports under the direction of a team leader
  • Identify discrepancies and prepare supporting written reports
  • Close liaison with main contractors and site teams to review and advise on quality management
  • Occasional need to visit manufacturers to review quality
  • Working on a variety of construction projects across Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Government, Justice Buildings, Leisure, Community Builds and Residential (Project values £6m – £300m)

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in both new-build and refurbishment projects
  • Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works, Senior Site Manager, Building Control Surveyor or Technical Inspector
  • Detailed knowledge of various forms of construction
  • Experienced in producing site inspection reports
  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Microsoft Office
  • MICWCI, MCIOB, MRICS, ICWCI preferred but not essential
  • UK Driving Licence and own vehicle
