The opportunity for a Senior Landscape Architect in Edinburgh to join a reputable AJ100 award winning firm offering amazing staff benefits on top of a sociable and supportive working environment.

My client is a collaborative design studio employing nearly 200 staff in offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol and provides services for the delivery of a wide range of private and affordable housing, major redevelopment, and regeneration projects. The practice specialises in urban regeneration and sustainable living, and has teams working effectively across Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Communications, Sustainability and Planning.

The Landscape team was established in 2003 and now employs over 30 Landscape professionals, alongside winning numerous Landscape Institute awards. Due to a number of large-scale public realm projects, we are interested in hearing from Senior Chartered Landscape Architects with demonstrable experience of project running from concept design through to construction stages.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Direct the delivery of projects within budgets, targets and timescales agreed with Project Leaders and Landscape Architects
  • Take responsibility for leading the landscape design process
  • Lead, motivate and develop more junior members of the Landscape team
  • Carry out all landscape design approval processes, and in particular set and monitor landscape design quality objectives for all projects, and audit projects to ensure they meet these objectives
  • Represent landscape design quality within all project teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A relevant degree in Landscape Architecture or other relevant Postgraduate/Master’s degree, with Chartered member status of the Landscape Institute, or equivalent professional status
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional design skills, and excellent project and client management skills
  • Proven experience of leading, building, managing, developing and working as part of a team
  • Good knowledge of the basic principles of horticulture and planting design
  • Demonstrable experience of working on medium and large-scale schemes at all work stages, running multiple complex projects and delivering high quality results
  • Strong IT skills, with experience of using all MS office applications and highly proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience of Sketchup and Lumion is desirable.
