A great opportunity to join a bespoke high-end residential developer as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, based in West London. Offering a competitive salary and benefits with further scope for progression as they take on additional projects.

The company design, develop, manufacture and install penthouses in London. You will be joining a sociable and collaborative team of 10 and reporting into a Commercial Director. The role offers autonomy for you to run with your own projects. You will have full commercial responsibility of each project, ensuring that that all projects are cost effective yet delivering a high standard finish they are renowned for.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Full quantity surveying and cost management duties
  • Pre contract feasibility and viability advice including cost models
  • Contractor procurement
  • Drive value engineering
  • Contract negotiations
  • Produce monthly cost reports and estimate future likely cost expenditure
  • Management of contractor applications, payments and variations through to closing Final Accounts
  • Provide high quality cost advice on complex residential development projects
  • Advise on strategic matters, key cost drivers, project costs and added value

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Familiarity with complex new build and refurbishment developments within the high-end residential / Residential sector
  • Strong understanding of construction process and detailing
  • Familiarity with complex new build and refurbishment developments within the high-end residential sector
  • Experience working for a developer and / or contractor
  • Experience with standard forms of contract including NEC3 and JCT
  • Experienced in pre-contract estimates and post contract cost management through to completion
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experienced in liaising with clients and contractors
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Knowledge of London market would be advantageous
  • Ideally BSC in Quantity Surveying or RICS accredited degree but not essential
