Senior Quantity Surveyor Job in Sevenoaks

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a growing multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks working on major urban regeneration projects in London and Home Counties. We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor from either a contractor, developer or consultancy background with strong experience in cost planning and estimating. You will be joining a growing and busy cost consultancy team with a strong pipeline of work for public and private sector clients.

The consultancy offers a multitude of services to include project management, surveying, cost consultancy, and design management, and specialise in residential, affordable housing, major regeneration and remedial projects for developers, RPs, and Local Authorities. Made up of around 100 employees and 4 offices, they are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of work across London, Midlands and the Southeast.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Production of cost plans for new build/high-rise residential projects
  • Supporting clients by producing accurate and competitive cost estimates
  • Client liaison and attending design team meetings
  • Preparation of Cost / Benefit analysis of design options Ensuring all costs are tracked & validated
  • Client-side valuations and certification
  • Cost control and preparation of periodic financial reconciliations, reports and forecasts
  • Reviewing and analysing Main Contractors Tender submissions
  • Cost comparison and main contractor selection
  • Tendering of large subcontract packages
  • Cost exercises for clients including Value Engineering Tendering
  • Deal with correspondence in relation to commercial and contractual issues

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Developer, contractor or consultancy background
  • Must have excellent cost planning and estimating experience
  • Residential high-rise / urban regeneration project experience is essential
  • Knowledge of cladding / façade packages
  • Experienced in developing cost plans from drawings
  • Working knowledge of Cost X
  • Understanding of JCT Design and Build contracts
  • RICS Accredited Degree or ‘time-served’ to commence relevant accreditation (MRICS / MCIOB)
  • UK Driving Licence and own car
