Senior Town Planner - Plymouth

A great opportunity for a Senior Town Planner to join a multidisciplinary practice in their Plymouth office. If you have experience in town planning with proven ability to lead on projects, then we want to hear from you. The 300 strong practice serve a wide array of sectors to include Hotel & Leisure, Healthcare, Education, Residential and Retail. They offer wide ranging services across architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, town planning and masterplanning and have been awarded multiple times for their work.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Working on planning projects across many sectors to include Residential, Education and commercial developments
    Prepare planning, listed building consent and certificates of lawfulness applications on behalf of clients
  • Prepare planning policy appraisals and schedule of planning application deliverable’s
  • Assisting pre-application discussions with Local Planning Authorities
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams with integrated planning design, access statements and environmental statements for major projects
  • Prepare minor material amendment, non-material amendment and reserved matters submissions
  • Support with public consultation and stakeholder engagement strategies
  • Prepare representations to draft local development plans and CIL charging schedules
  • Assist with the preparation of written representation appeals
  • Manage development management queries
  • Prepare research articles and Technical Advice Notes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Chartered MRTPI
  • Knowledge of UK Planning Regulations and procedures
  • Track record of leading successful planning projects
  • Development management experience
  • Contribute effectively to the growth of the Planning Department
  • Ability to prepare project proposals and tender responses would be advantageous
  • Consultancy background would be advantageous
