Surveyor Job in London

New Surveyor / Employers Agent role for a multidisciplinary consultancy based in London Bridge, working on residential new build, commercial and education projects, predominantly in London. The role offers excellent training and career progression opportunities with a salary of circa £40,000 – £60,000, plus progression opportunities and remote working. We are looking for Surveyors / Employers Agents from a Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying background either at an intermediate or senior level.

The multidisciplinary practice is award-winning and specialises in commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, retail, mixed-use and residential. Offering a multitude of services in Architecture, BIM, M&E, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management and H&S. Made up of 6 offices and just over 300 staff, they are continuing to grow and offer excellent progression opportunities as well as financial support towards relevant industry qualifications and accreditations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Developing a client brief and assembling the project delivery team
  • Procuring necessary consultancy services to develop a project to planning submission/tender
  • Preparation of robust and accurate tender and contract packages
  • Undertaking various forms of tender process (OJEU framework and negotiated)
  • The ability to analyse and review Contractor/Developer and Designer proposals and ensure that the Employer’s Requirements are fulfilled
  • Acting as Employer’s Agent, Client Representative or Contract Administrator for the delivery of projects
  • Chairing meetings, taking minutes and following up action plans
  • Contract Administration
  • Develop / support with order of cost estimates, options appraisals and elemental build cost estimates
  • Procure / support with procurement of projects, preparing robust tender reports
  • Preparation and administration of variations to building contracts
  • Provide cost reports during the delivery of building contracts
  • Prepare final accounts for building contracts
  • Valuation of works under building contracts

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ Years’ experience as a Surveyor / Employers Agent
  • Preferably MRICS or working towards
  • Experienced in contract administration
  • Consultancy or main contractor background
  • Experience in residential new build projects is a must (other sectors like commercial or education are desirable in addition to this)
  • Experienced pre-contract through to completion / final sign off of accounts
  • Experienced in cost estimates, variations, cost reports and tender reports
  • understanding of Development control and funding/delivery standards within the housing sector
  • RICS Accredited Degree in either Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or a similar construction related subject
  • Excellent client-facing skills
  • UK Driving Licence and own vehicle preferred due to some sites being based in The Home Counties
